A judicial magistrate on Monday granted a four-day physical remand to Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) of one Taimur Maqsood of Jhang involved in sharing child-pornographic contents with people in United States, Australia, New Zealand and Canada. The Interpol had arrested a man in Canada who disclosed his links with Maqsood in Pakistan. The agency had registered a case under Prevention Electronic Crimes Act 2016 against the suspect and also recovered mobile phones, computer and laptops from his custody.

The FIA arrested Taimur Maqsood from Jhang on complaint from National Child Exploitation Centre, Interpol in Canada. The Interpol had told the FIA that the suspect, an electrical engineer, was involved in sharing videos of child-pornography with people in United States, Australia, New Zealand and Canada through internet.

Earlier the agency's investigating officer told the magistrate that the suspect had confessed to his crime and his physical remand was required for further interrogation.
